TravelConnect service & lost-items policy

Effective November 1, 2026 · Version 2026-11-01

Lost, stolen, or damaged luggage

TravelConnect is a luggage identity and recovery communication service, not baggage insurance. To the extent permitted by law, Cardintel is not responsible for lost, stolen, delayed, damaged, misdelivered, or unrecovered luggage or its contents. Recovery is not guaranteed. This does not exclude liability or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be limited.

Cardintel Technologies LLC does not take custody of luggage, act as a transport carrier, or provide baggage insurance. Buying a card or digital subscription does not purchase compensation for lost items, replacement costs, travel disruption, or recovery expenses.

This limitation does not exclude liability for Cardintel’s fraud, intentional misconduct, gross negligence, or other conduct where applicable law prohibits an exclusion. Mandatory consumer rights and remedies remain in effect.

01 / THE SERVICE

A connection that can help recovery.

TravelConnect links registered NFC and QR luggage cards to a changeable recovery page. Owners can maintain itineraries, control optional public information, mark luggage as lost, and read reports submitted by finders.

Recovery is not guaranteed. A standard NFC card has no live GPS location. Airline baggage feeds, GPS tracker integrations, and email/SMS alerts are not connected in this release. Check the recovery inbox yourself. Finder reports and device coordinates are unverified and may be inaccurate, delayed, or absent. Access requires compatible equipment and an internet connection; outages may occur.

Standard NFC and QR links can be copied. Registration controls access to the service; it does not prove a physical chip is authentic. Secure-chip authentication is unavailable until provisioned and verified.

02 / TRAVELER RESPONSIBILITIES

Prepare the card. Keep your carrier informed.

  • Attach the card securely, test the NFC and QR link before travel, and keep trip information current. Retain airline and transport baggage tags and receipts.
  • Report missing luggage promptly to the carrier, hotel, cruise line, station, port, or relevant lost-and-found service. Follow their claim deadlines and contact your insurer separately if applicable.
  • Use staffed locations for recovery. Do not enter restricted areas, confront strangers, or rely on a report as proof that someone possesses your belongings.
  • Do not submit false reports, misuse another person’s card, or expose information you are not authorized to share.
03 / YEARLY DIGITAL SERVICE

Single or Family. Reusable for every trip.

PlanCard allowanceYearly price
Single1 card$14.99 USD
Family1–5 cards$39.99 USD

The allowance describes simultaneous registered cards in one workspace. The Family plan is managed by one adult and does not include five separate private accounts. Reusing a card for a new flight, train, road trip, ferry, boat, or cruise does not require another subscription. Cards still require authorized issuance and activation.

Physical cards, replacement cards, shipping, transport bookings, baggage storage, and insurance are separate. Applicable taxes will be displayed before purchase. These are annual digital-service prices, not monthly charges.

Paid enrollment is not open. You can save a nonbinding plan preference. It creates no subscription, payment obligation, price reservation, or recurring-charge authorization. Current free workspace access does not automatically convert into a paid plan.
04 / BEFORE PAID ENROLLMENT OPENS

Renewal, cancellation, and billing.

The following terms describe the planned paid service. A separate checkout will show the total price, tax, annual term, renewal date, cancellation method, and applicable refund terms, and require explicit agreement before starting recurring charges.

  • Annual renewal: after purchase, Single renews at $14.99 USD per year and Family at $39.99 USD per year, plus applicable tax, unless canceled before the next renewal. Any price change will be disclosed in advance, with any consent required by law.
  • Renewal reminder: a notice will be provided 30 days before the renewal/cancellation deadline, or earlier where applicable law requires. It will state the renewal amount and date and explain how to cancel.
  • Online cancellation: a cancellation link must be available before paid enrollment opens. Canceling will stop the next renewal, with paid service continuing until the end of the paid term. A confirmation will be provided.
  • Refunds and billing errors: canceling future renewal does not itself refund prior service. Refund terms must be clearly presented before purchase; statutory cancellation and refund rights remain unaffected. Contact Cardintel about duplicate, incorrect, or unauthorized charges.

Cardintel will not open paid enrollment until billing, receipts, cancellation, renewal notices, and subscription access controls are operational. Saving or removing a plan preference today does not purchase or cancel a subscription.

05 / PRIVACY & ACCESS

Choose what travels with your card.

Your full traveler name, contact information, flight details, dates, hotel, notes, and trip history stay in your private workspace. A recovery page shows the luggage’s public description and recovery message, plus a public display name or destination only when you enable those options. Never place sensitive information in public descriptions.

Anyone who has your private recovery key can access your workspace. Store it privately, keep it off the physical card, and lock shared devices. A Family workspace shares access to its records; the adult managing it should have permission to enter each traveler’s information. Rotate the key if access may have been exposed. There is no recovery by email.

Finders choose what to submit and consent to sharing their report, reply details, and optional device location with the luggage owner. Cardintel operates the service and may process stored records for support, security, and legal obligations. Contact Cardintel for questions about personal information or a deletion request. This policy does not promise anonymity from the service operator.

06 / THIRD-PARTY TRAVEL SERVICES

Bookings are with the provider.

TravelConnect links to external flight, hotel, transportation, storage, and travel-information websites. These links do not establish a partnership or guarantee a provider’s safety, availability, prices, or performance. The provider’s terms, privacy practices, cancellation rules, and claim procedures apply to transactions on its site. Review them before booking or leaving luggage.
